Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is providing international cooperation to developing countries as an implementing agency that centrally provides Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA).
CARD: Coalition for African Rice Development
JICA is working to achieve the following for 32 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa with the aim of doubling rice production in Sub-Saharan Africa from 28 million tons to 56 million tons.
-Irrigation development and rice variety development in response to climate change
-Promotion of rice business
-Strengthening the competitiveness of domestically produced rice by improving the quality of rice
-Improving farmers' livelihoods and livelihoods through these
SHEP: Smallholder Horticulture Empowerment & Promotion
JICA is supporting the practice of market-oriented agriculture by the SHEP approach (a method to change the farming mindset of small-scale farmers and increase their agricultural income) by more than 1 million small-scale farmers by 2030.
